Art in the Air: CAPSTONE PROJECT

The Art in the Air” Capstone led by seniors Paige Kobza and Sarah Morgan was an eight week long after-school art program that provided free art classes for students living in the Bon Air community. Over the course of the eight weeks, ten Bon Air Elementary School students from second to fifth grade learned about influential artists, contributed to a class mural for the community, and embraced their creative voice through many different projects. Each child received an “art box” that held a variety of different art supplies, with which they made many of their projects.

Paige and Sarah wrapped up the classes with a final art show, which was held on February 28, 2017. It was a great celebration that displayed all of the students’ artwork for their friends, family, and teachers. The kids were so happy to see their art up on the walls, and their endearing reactions made it a smashing success!
